Annette Welch, one of the volunteers that will make the trip to Uganda in June, inspired her family and almost 100 friends and colleagues to get involved in her adventure.
She decided to bring a little bit of Africa to town by cooking up an authentic four course African meal in camp ovens in their back yard. With the family having done lots of camping, her husband Ken proved to be an expert at this. Hopefully Annette will be able to pass on some of these amazing skills to the Ugandans!

Meanwhile inside Annette beautifully decorated tables and set the scene with African artifacts. Soon it was time for everyone to help themselves to the sensational food that had been prepared.

As you can see everyone had a great night, enjoying great food, for a great cause. Slideshows of amazing HUG images were shown throughout the night and everyone who was lucky enough to be there now has a much better awareness of what Annette is about to undertake in Uganda!

An amazing $2500 was raised on the night and along with other donations Annette has raised a whopping $3250! This money will now be handed over by Annette and the HUG team to various projects across Uganda. A water tank and organic garden for Kyassonko Primary school is top of the list but much more will also be achieved at Suubi and surrounding schools.
Well done to Annette, her amazing family and everyone in Bathurst. You should be unbelievably proud of yourselves!
