There was a real buzz at Suubi today as a load of new books arrived at the centre.
In the lead up to Christmas last year a number of books were purchased as gifts via the HUG Shop. Also, for the second year in a row, a ladies book club from Cheltenham donated their Kris Kringle money to HUG. These ladies have been instrumental in helping us to establish the Suubi Library and their love of reading has now definitely spread to Lubanda Village in Uganda.

Educational books for Suubi Library were bought as Christmas gifts by book loving Aussies.

The shelves of the Suubi Library are slowly but surely filling up.
In addition to the purchased books, the Suubi children were thrilled to receive a box that was jam packed with books that had been written, illustrated and produced by a group of students from Kyabram's P-12 College. The budding Kyabram authors and illustrators had worked hard to come up with a variety of stories they thought the children in Uganda would both enjoy and learn from. They then approached the local Rotary Club to assist them to cover the cost of printing their books and getting them to Uganda. So thanks to a fabulous initiative in Kyabram, where students gained many worthwhile skills themselves, the children in a tiny village in Uganda will now be able to enjoy these books for many years to come. Surely this perfectly shows how we can help children on both sides of the world to grow. (HUG - Help Us Grow) A fabulous outcome for everyone!

We would like to thank everyone who has supported the Suubi Library. We hope that seeing books in the hands of Ugandans, who would otherwise never have this opportunity, brings a smile to your face today.
HUGs from the team!
